The project introduces a new concept of operating computer from TV remote instead of mouse. Usually a PC/ laptop require a mouse to control the applications. This becomes tedious during presentations hence with the help of a TV remote as a cordless mouse one can easily operate PC from anywhere. The project requires an IR sensor interfaced to microcontroller that receives the coded infrared rays sent by TV remote. The microcontroller sends the signal to COM port of a PC via level shifter IC. A software PC remote installed on PC recognizes the data received from COM port and performs required operation. Thus the operations like up, down, left, right and right and left click can be performed by TV remote. |
